Sometimes words aren’t enough. Sand tray offers a creative and experiential way to explore thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences that may be difficult to put into words.
Using sand and miniature figures or objects, you create a scene that has meaning for you. There is no right or wrong way to use the tray, and you don’t need to be creative or artistic.
You choose and arrange objects at your own pace, with as much or as little conversation as feels comfortable. You might create something connected to a particular experience, relationship or feeling, or simply see what emerges.
Rather than interpreting your tray for you, we explore together what it means to you, noticing any thoughts, feelings, connections or new perspectives that arise.
Working visually can sometimes help us express what is difficult to explain in words. It can offer a different perspective on experiences, emotions and patterns, helping something that feels complicated or unclear become easier to explore and understand.
Sand tray isn’t just for children. I offer it to adults and couples as part of my integrative approach, and it is always your choice whether you would like to use it.
